Annual Duck Parade

Every year on the first Saturday in June our community gets together for our annual Duck Daze celebration.

The event began about 10 years ago when Dixie Harris and Terry Reim, founders of the University Place Farmers Market felt that we needed to celebrate the beautiful main street of our community, Bridgeport Way, that the city had just finished completing. What better way to celebrate than with a parade.

Then there was the theme, let's see spring showers are almost gone and we are heading into summer so let's celebrate the end of the rainy season and what better mascot than ducks!

So it began and ever since then Team Insurance, Inc. has provided the famous duck hats and organized the parade for the city which has taken it on to be an all day event.
